Fixes for the questions we are asked most, and a real email address at the end of them.

Email info.easifystudios@gmail.com and a person will reply. If you are reporting a problem with a scan, include your iPhone model and iOS version — it makes reproducing the issue far faster. Below are the fixes for the issues we are asked about most.

The infrared scan does not show anything

Two causes, in order of likelihood. First, the room is not dark enough — night-vision illuminators only switch on in darkness, so a lit room gives nothing to detect. Draw the curtains, kill every light, and wait a minute for any camera to engage night mode. Second, you may be using the rear camera, which has an infrared cut filter that blocks most of what you are looking for. Switch to the front camera. To confirm your phone works at all, point the front camera at a TV remote in a dark room and press a button: a violet-white flicker on screen means the sensor sees infrared. Full details on the infrared scanner page.

The Wi-Fi scan lists nothing, or only my own phone

Your iPhone must be connected to a Wi-Fi network — the scan enumerates the network you have joined, and it cannot see one you are not on. Check that Local Network permission is granted in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network. Note also that most hotel and public guest networks enable client isolation, which deliberately prevents devices from seeing one another; in that situation an empty list is the network working as designed, not a bug. See the Wi-Fi scanner page.

The Bluetooth scan finds nothing

Check that Bluetooth is switched on and that the app has Bluetooth permission in Settings › Privacy & Security › Bluetooth. Bluetooth Low Energy devices broadcast intermittently, so give a scan twenty or thirty seconds before concluding a room is empty. Devices that are already paired to another phone, or that only advertise during setup, may not appear at all.

The lens scan or magnetic scan flags everything

Some false positives are unavoidable and expected. Screw heads, mirror fittings and adhesive dots reflect light; screws, hinges, speakers, chargers and building steel all disturb the magnetic field. The way to use these modes is to corroborate rather than accept. For a lens hit, move a step sideways and look again — a real lens keeps its bright point across angles, a flat reflection does not. For a magnetic hit, establish a baseline in the middle of the room first and look for a sharp local peak rather than a high number. The full method guide covers the ordering that keeps false positives manageable.

Purchases, restoring and refunds

To restore a purchase after reinstalling or changing device, use the restore option in the app while signed into the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. Subscriptions are managed in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone — cancelling there stops future renewals and access continues to the end of the paid period. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us, at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple declines a refund you believe is fair, email us and we will help where we can.

Deleting your data

There is nothing on our servers to delete. Scans run on your device and results are not uploaded. Deleting the app removes everything it stored locally. The privacy policy covers this in full, including the analytics used on this website.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the infrared scan show nothing?

Either the room is not dark enough for a night-vision camera to switch its infrared illuminators on, or you are using the rear camera, which has an infrared cut filter. Turn all lights off, wait a minute, and switch to the front camera. Test your phone by pointing the front camera at a TV remote in the dark and pressing a button.

Why does the Wi-Fi scan list no devices?

Your iPhone must be connected to a Wi-Fi network, and the app needs Local Network permission in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network. On hotel and public guest networks, client isolation usually prevents devices from seeing each other, so an empty list is expected there.

How do I cancel a subscription or request a refund?

Manage or cancel the subscription in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, not by us.

How do I delete my data?

There is nothing stored on our servers — scans are processed on your device and results are never uploaded. Deleting the app removes everything it kept locally.

AI Hidden Camera Detector Pro is a detection aid, not a certified counter-surveillance instrument. It uses standard iPhone sensors and cannot guarantee that a space is free of recording devices. Treat results as signals worth investigating, not as proof. If you believe you have found a camera recording you without consent, contact local law enforcement.
