Hidden Camera Detector: Find Hidden Cameras & Spy Devices

AI Hidden Camera Detector Pro turns the sensors already in your iPhone into a four-layer sweep for concealed cameras — AI lens recognition, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth device scanning, an infrared check and a magnetic field meter. Built for hotels, rentals, offices, changing rooms and anywhere you want certainty before you relax.

How a phone sweep actually works

A concealed camera has three problems it cannot escape. It needs a clear line of sight to what it is recording, which means an exposed lens. It needs power, which means it sits inside or beside something already wired. And in almost every modern case it needs to send footage somewhere, which means a radio. Each of those constraints leaves a trace your iPhone can pick up.

The app groups those traces into four scans. AI lens detection looks for the retroreflective glint a lens returns when light hits it head-on. The Wi-Fi scanner and Bluetooth scanner map the wireless devices around you so an unexplained camera-class device stands out. The infrared scan exposes night-vision LEDs that are invisible to your eye but not to a camera sensor. And the magnetic field detector reads the magnetometer to find electronics buried inside furniture, mirrors and walls.

None of these is proof on its own. A router is a wireless device, a TV remote emits infrared, and a screw head reflects light. The value is in the overlap: when the same object trips two or three different scans, you have a real reason to look closer. Our step-by-step guide to finding hidden cameras covers how to run the scans in the right order and how to read a result honestly.

Frequently asked questions

Can a phone really detect a hidden camera?

A phone cannot see through walls, but it can use the hardware it already has to surface the traces most hidden cameras leave behind: a reflective lens under the camera, an infrared LED glow in the dark, a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth radio broadcasting nearby, and a magnetic field from the device's own components. The app combines those four checks so you have a repeatable routine instead of a guess.

Does the app work without an internet connection?

The magnetic field sensor, the infrared check and the AI lens scan all run on the device and work offline. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth scans need those radios switched on, because they read the wireless environment around you, but they do not need a working internet connection.

Where are hidden cameras most often found?

In objects that already face a bed, a desk or a doorway and already need power: smoke detectors, alarm clocks, USB chargers and power strips, television sets and set-top boxes, air purifiers, picture frames, and vents. A camera has to see the room and stay powered, which narrows the realistic hiding places considerably.

Is it legal to scan a hotel room or rental for cameras?

Checking a space you are lawfully occupying for devices recording you is generally lawful, and in most places recording a guest in a private area without consent is not. Laws vary by country and state. If you find something you believe is a camera, do not dismantle it — document it, leave it in place, and contact the property and local police.

AI Hidden Camera Detector Pro is a detection aid, not a certified counter-surveillance instrument. It uses standard iPhone sensors and cannot guarantee that a space is free of recording devices. Results should be treated as signals worth investigating, not as proof. If you believe you have found a camera recording you without consent, contact local law enforcement.
